The patient in a vegetative state, characterised by respiratory autonomy and open eyes, is admitted to the AWAKENING UNIT where the early rehabilitation phase begins, for which the main objective is to facilitate the recovery of consciousness activities

Severe Brain Injuries Unit (UGC)

The patient that has recovered a minimal activity and when the clinical conditions are stable, is transferred to SEVERE BRAIN INJURY UNIT where the rehabilitation continues.

The FUNCTIONAL RECOVERY AND REHABILITATION UNIT is dedicated to patients with outcomes of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, such as a stroke, degenerative diseases like Parkinson’s and orthopaedic pathologies.

Patients are hospitalised transferred from acute care hospital wards.

The unit, located at the facility in Poggio Pudano, specialises for vegetative or minimally conscious states. The unit is dedicated to patients that have not recovered conscientious activities for several months.

This ward guarantees a prolonged reception based on multi-professional nursing, the prevention of secondary complications, and the maintenance of psychophysical well-being.
